I’m Meerab Amir Khan and I have been working with Home Charity Trust for almost a year now. I joined this place as a story telling teacher and most importantly a good friend of all the beautiful girls blooming here. Since many years I just recognized this place as an ordinary orphanage but then I visited Home for an art event under Social Life Project Collaboration and realized that it’s not just an orphanage but it really is a HOME. An atmosphere enriched with love, affection, safety, security, grooming, growth and knowledge. Why would anyone miss a chance of working at such a place?
Then I joined the place as a librarian, along with the art of storytelling because I wanted to inspire learning through books so I wanted that transition to happen through myself. Coming towards my task as a librarian; it seems boring to some people however it’s not how it appears to be. The power found among the pages of a book is stellar indeed. Books are the most faithful companions. They stay, they teach, they make you laugh but they never leave. My love for book reading is what always makes my opinion different and unique from others because books never stop teaching; so why should we stop learning?
This video below is from one of our Library Day that we chose to spend in the porch in summers as it was windy outside that Saturday.
There is no age restriction to gain knowledge. Today a reader, tomorrow a leader! Reading gives an exciting place to visit when I have nowhere to go. The infinite benefits of reading can’t be expressed just through words but one should experience it himself/herself. This is the reason why we started a library at Home Charity Trust; to share this amazing experience among all. Everyone is welcomed to join us. :)
I will be waiting for you at the library and also for those who are willing to join our membership and get the benefits.
Keep reading! Keep Smiling!
Happy Reading!
